Fatai Osho has emerged as the new coach of Akwa United FC.

Chairman of Akwa United FC Paul Bassey disclosed this while unveiling the new coach to journalists in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday.

Bassey explained that the contract would run for one year, adding that Osho was contracted because of his experience and track record of achievements while coaching at other clubs.

Bassey described the new coach as someone with over 12 years of experience in coaching who could win laurels for the team and make the state proud.

While pledging the support of the state government, stakeholders, and fans to make him succeed in his coaching endeavours, he charged the gaffer to take the team to continental wins, as victory is all the fans need.

While introducing Osho, whose coaching CV includes Remo Stars, Enyimba, and Rivers United, he said: “This coach we are unveiling is a coach with pedigree; his experience as a coach could take us to Eldorado; he’s a coach that can return us to the continent, and we believe as he is here, he will win laurels.”

In his response, Osho thanked the state government for the contract and promised to take Akwa United to greater heights.

He added that the only thing the team could add to the beauty of the stadium was results, in the form of success in winning matches.

He promised that he would work harder to achieve the results.
