First defeat: It was a bad day for Chelsea everything went wrong

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has described his wards 2-5 home loss as a bad omen, saying everything went in the wrong directions at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues suffered a shock 5-2 defeat at home to West Brom, who had previously won just twice since the start of December. Tuchel also received the baptism of fire since he assumed to lead the club technical crew.

Well, what an afternoon that was for Chelsea.

It started well enough with Christian Pulisic putting the Blues ahead but then things went south very quickly. Thiago Silva was sent off, Mathues Pereira scored twice before halftime, and in the second period, Thomas Tuchel’s side capitulated.

Mbaye Diagne struck and Callum Robinson netted a brace either side of a goal from Mason Mount which gave Chelsea fleeting hope.

This was hardly the ideal preparation for Wednesday night’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Porto and we’ll have Thomas Tuchel’s reaction to the defeat momentarily.

“Everything that went wrong, went wrong, every shot from them was a goal. I didn’t see it coming. We have to take responsibility, shake it off and digest it.”
