Nigeria’s first Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has given the Super Falcons a pat on the back for impressive performance at the ongoing women’s world cup despite crashing out in the round of 16.

Mrs Tinubu hailed the girls while hosting them at the Aso Rock Villa on Monday.

Addressing the players at the State House, Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu who received the team alongside officials of the Nigeria Football Federation said, “You gave your all and we are proud of you. Although the final result did not go our way, I am here to remind you that victory is not solely determined by the score on the field. The unbreakable spirit and unity that you demonstrated are true markers of success”.

In his remarks, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, thanked the First Lady for the warm reception and assured that the players would continue to give good and qualitative representation to the country.

Recall that the Super Falcons crashed out at the same level in France in 2019. The Randy Waldrum tutored side will be hoping to have another chase at their best outing 24 years ago when they made it to the quarterfinals before booking their exit after losing to 4-3 to Brazil.
