Iced water, sold in transparent white nylon bags, has made a surprising comeback as the price of sachet water skyrockets due to inflation, leaving consumers seeking more affordable options to quench their thirst.

A video captured the moment a woman in a park in Ibadan was seen selling two nylon bags of iced water for the price of N50.

People around were surprised by the return of this traditional refreshment, and pulled out their phones to video the scene.

This return of iced water comes in response to the inflated increase in sachet water prices.

Previously, a bag containing 20 sachets of water was sold for N150, but the current average price has surged to N350.

Furthermore, one sachet, once priced at N10, now reportedly cost N50.

The creation of sachet water had rendered the sale of iced water obsolete for years.

However,  due to the recent price surge, it has brought about more interest in this old alternative.

Providing consumers, faced with rising living costs, another alternative to those affected by the sachet water price hike.
