Nigerian Grammy award-winner, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has nothing but kind words for his South African counterpart, Nasty C.
He declared that the rapper is the best, even better than most American rappers.
Burna Boy stated this in an interview after he was asked his opinion on Americans tagging all genres of African music as Afrobeat.
In his reply, Burna stated that Nasty C is a rapper, therefore his music should be classified as rap and not afrobeat. He added that he shouldn’t be seen only as an Afrobeat musician just because he’s from Africa.
The ”Ye” crooner went ahead to say that the young South African artiste is better that most rappers from the United States.
In his words; ”Yeah, everything is not Afrobeats. Nasty C is a rapper. And because he’s from Africa now, you’re going to say Afrobeats? Nah, he’s a rapper. Brah, I’ll put my money on Nasty C over almost any American rapper.”
