Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has already made up his mind on the player he thinks will play the number ten role when the World Cup 2022 qualifiers begin.

Reading midfielder Michael Olise who was on standby for the last set of games over passport issues after declaring to play for Nigeria ahead of France is Rohr’s preferred candidate for the position.

Olise has emerged as one of the finest playmaker in the English Championship with ten assists and six goals as Reading continue their push to make the play off positions.

Rohr is hoping the 19 year old would have been issue a Nigerian passport before the first game against Cape Verde in June as he sees him as the perfect fit for the number ten role of the team.

“ It’s as good as done. Olise will play the number ten role once his switch is done. Rohr has already seen enough to make that move with him. That is why in the past few games, Iwobi operated from the wings. It’s Olise’s spot”, a backroom staff of the Super Eagles told Owngoalnigeria.com
