Ahead of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive election materials to the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.

The Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Niyi Ijalaye confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta Thursday.

He said INEC in Ogun took delivery of the materials, which include result sheets and ballot papers in the early hours of Thursday.

Speaking while inspecting the materials kept inside the Abeokuta branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ijalaye disclosed that the materials would be accompanied by armed security men, adding that the remotest areas with difficult terrains would be served first.

Ijalaye confirmed that the commission had been mobilised by the CBN with cash to pay for transport and other logistics.
