Bendel Insurance midfielder, Divine Nwachukwu is delighted to be back in action following an injury lay-off.

Nwachukwu came on as a second-half substitute in Insurance’s 1-0 win against Abia Warriors on Thursday.

The enterprising midfielder was sidelined with a knee injury for over six months.

Nwachukwu said he felt emotional to return to the pitch with his teammates.

“I’m delighted to announce that I’m back on the pitch for our win against Abia Warriors after a long time away,” he wrote on his X handle.

“It feels incredible to lace up my boots again and join my teammates.

“Thanks for your unwavering support and I can’t wait to give my all and make you proud out there. Let’s do this together.”

Nwachukwu played a pivotal role in Bendel Insurance’s qualification for the CAF Confederations Cup last season.

His impressive performance during the NPFL championship playoff earned him a place in the Super Eagles team for the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in June.
