The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says there is no truth in the reports carried by UK tabloid The Sun on plans to have Arnold Danjuma Groeneveld dump the Dutch national team for Nigeria.
Danjuma who was born in Lagos to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother decided to commit commit his international future to the Netherlands in 2018 ahead of Nigeria.
He reportedly turned down the chance to team up with the Nigerian team when he was approached around same time as the Netherlands. He ended up playing twice in same year making his debut against Germany and scoring his first international goal against Belgium.
Since then he hasn’t gotten a look in and few days ago reports has it that he want to take advantage of the new laws by FIFA on players switch of allegiance to commit his future to Nigeria.
“ It’s not true. At no point in time was his name mentioned in any discussion. He is at Bournemouth and we wish him a good club career and also at international level but we are not interested in luring him to us “, an official of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com
