John Legend Wins An Emmy, Becomes First Black Man To Achieve EGOT Status

John Legend won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) thatnks his work on Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert — giving him the highly coveted EGOT status.

He’s the first Black man and also the youngest person to have an Emmy, a Grammy (he has 10), an Oscar (2015 Best Original Song for “Glory”), and a Tony (2017 for Best Revival of A Play for Jitney).
