Jubilation As Nigerian Football Star Scores On His Debut for Top European Club

Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem made his debut for Alanyaspor after joining them on a season-long loan from the Portuguese side Boavista. Chidozie was off to a dream start as he scored on his debut with a powerful header.

Many Betway soccer betting fans don’t put their money on defenders scoring goals, but this loanee could have them rethinking their strategy! Chidozie, 24, only needed eight minutes to get to the score sheet with a goal that decided the game.

After his loan move, his coach, Bülent Korkmaz, put him straight in the starting lineup, showing his confidence in him. He lined up alongside Juan Fran, Nemanja Milunovic and Cristian Borja in defence. The team was hoping to go back to winning ways after losing to Altay and Hatayspor.

Wasted Chances

The hosts wasted many chances and were made to rue for their wastefulness in front of the goal. Emre Akbaba hit a superb free-kick that the defender headed past goalkeeper Onurcan Piri.

Giresunspor stepped it up in the second half. Nevertheless, they couldn’t score an equalizer and were forced to return home with their heads bowed. Awaziem played the entire game while Senegal’s Famara Diedhiou started but had to make way for fellow citizen KHouma Babacar 15 minutes before the final whistle.

Additionally, Angola’s Wilson Eduardo came in for Daniel Candeias in the 56th minute, while El Mami Tetah did take part in the game at all.

In the visitor’s team, Fousseni Diabate of Mali played the entire game while Senegal’s Souleymane Doukara made way for fellow countryman Ibrahima Balde in the 68th minute. Also, in the second half, Joey Pelupessy came out for Mali’s Hamidou Traore. Senegal’s Younousse Sankhare and Mamadou Diarra did not take part in the game.

The President Is Optimistic

After the match, Alanyaspor’s president Hasan Cavusoglu stated that he believed Awaziem was capable of helping the squad. The president revealed how the defender had left the Nigerian game and arrived in Alanya the previous night.
Moreover, he claimed that Alanyaspor is a very good team and their new manager will help them return to the good old days. On the other hand, he acknowledged that they had already lost two games despite still being in the league.

The president believes that Awaziem, the technical team and the Alanyaspor community will work together to take the club back to where it belongs. Sports bettors on Betway will be hoping that the president and the team live up to their promises.

What Next?

The team will now be hoping to build on this positive result when they face Galatasaray in their next match scheduled for September 19th. On the other hand, their opponents, Giresunspor, who have not won any of their last seven games in all competitions, will be looking for a more positive result when they take on Konyaspor.

Both teams will be hoping to pick valuable lessons from their performance and improve in the next matches and build their momentum from there.
