The newly appointed head of Enyimba FC of Aba Kanu Nwankwo has approved the dissolution of the technical crew led by his former club and national teammate Finidi George, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
In a letter signed by the newly appointed Sporting Director of the team Ifeanyi Ekwueme as approved by Kanu , the entire technical crew of the team comprising the main team and the youth team have been relieved of their jobs.
They were all asked to reapply for their position within the next 48 hours, if they want to continue in their role. The directive is said to be with immediate effect.
Enyimba won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by winning the play off under Finidi and will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League. The new governor of Abia state Alex Otti appointed Kanu as the new head of the tean with a strange designation as supervisor.
Kanu who replaced Anyansi Agwu, who has been at helm for over 20 years appointed another of his former national team teammate Ekwueme as the sporting director of the team, replacing Jude Anyafudu.
The decision to sack Finid, who still has a year to run on his contract is said to have generated a lot of controversies and could be reversed according to some sources.
