Kanye West urged his Jesus Is King album collaborators to fast and abstain from premarital sex while they were working with him.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 radio show, the rapper, a born-again Christian, admits he found ways to test people, believing his insight would help them deliver a more powerful record.

”I was asking people to fast during the album,” he tells Lowe. “I was asking people to… there’s times where I was asking people to not have premarital sex while they were working on the album.
“Seriously, there’s times where I was… where I went to people who were working on other projects and said, ‘Could you just work and focus on this’.

“I thought, ‘If we could all focus and fast… I mean, it’s known when people pray together… families that pray together, stay together. When people pray together, and fast together, the power is increased.”
Kanye also used the interview to renew his pledge to run for the U.S. presidency, adding, “There will be a time when I will be the President of the U.S.”
He first made his presidential dreams known two years ago, announcing his plans to run for the top office in the 2020s.
