Kidnapper buries boy, 3, alive after collecting ransom in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old man, identified as Abubakar Abdulaziz for kidnapping and burying alive a three-year-old child. He reportedly abducted the victim from his parents in Musawa LGA of Katsina State.

According to a police report made available by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Isah Gambo, the suspect sneaked into the residence of Adamu Alhassan of Bacirawa village in Musawa Local Government Area while he was asleep, and kidnapped his three three-year-old son to an unknown destination.

The suspect thereafter followed up with a letter directing the victim’s parents to pay a ransom of N800,000 leaving a phone number with which he can be reached.

However, the victim’s father was said to have negotiated with the suspect and eventually paid the sum of N150,000 to secure the release of his child, but to no avail.

According to the police, upon receipt of the report, detectives immediately swung into action and arrested the suspect (Abubakar Abdulaziz) in connection with the case.

CSP Gambo also said the suspect, who confessed to having committed the offence, said he buried the child alive.
