Kwara Assembly: PDP candidate replaces ousted APC lawmaker

The Kwara State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, sworn-in Jimoh Raheem-Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He represents llorin South constituency.

Speaker of the House, Yakubu Danladi administered the oath of office on the new member, NAN reports.

“You are already familiar with the task ahead, we say congratulations and welcome on board,” he said.

The new lawmaker, a member of the 4th Assembly from 1999 to 2003, described his victory as a product of judiciary.

Raheem-Agboola was inaugurated in compliance with an Appeal Court Judgment in his favour.

The Supreme Court affirmed the judgement and ordered AbdulAzeez Elewu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vacate the legislative seat.

PDP state Chairman, Kola Shittu, family and friends witnessed Raheem-Agboola’s inauguration.
