Barcelona have confirmed that captain, Lionel Messi, will miss their La Liga clash against Eibar on Tuesday night at Camp Nou due to ankle injury.
The Catalan club also said that Messi would return to training after the Eibar match.
Barcelona disclosed this in a statement via its website on Sunday.
Ronald Koeman’s side head to the game after beating Valladolid 3-0 in the La Liga on Dec. 22, 2020.
“First team player, Lionel Messi, is completing the treatment for his right ankle, and is expected to return to training after the FC Barcelona v SD Eibar match,” Barcelona’s statement read.
The kick-off time for Barcelona vs Eibar is 7: 15 pm.
