Taiwo Awoniyi is in line for a chance at Liverpool five years after signing for the team if he is granted a work permit ahead of the start of next season.

Awoniyi was keen on a permanent transfer from Liverpool but Klopp still believe he could come good for Liverpool hence urged him to take up the option of the loan deal to Union Berlin to further his development.
The 23 year old has taken to life in the Bundesliga this season for surprise package Union Berlin with six goals and two assists in his last seven games.
Klopp is aware of his form and with the coach giving just seven minutes of Premier League action to Divock Origi, It’s clear that his future lies elsewhere.
The idea according to what we gather is to replace the Belgian with a striker from within as it has been the case with the German coach and it has led to the emergence of talents like Trent Alexander Arnold, Rhy Williams, Nathaniel Philips, Caoimhin Kelleher and Curtis Jones.
For now Awoniyi is the first option as Origi’s replacement if as expected the Belgian is allowed to leave in the summer. Liverpool will once again try to get a permit for the Nigerian and their case for special consideration will be high if he maintains his current scoring streak in Germany.
The special talent rule could work in his favour if he scores ten or more goals this season in Germany. That could also help him fight his way into the senior national team of Nigeria where he will likely get games that will boost his cause as well.
