Lord’s London Dry Gin, a premium indigenous Nigerian gin from the stable of Grand Oak Limited, has taken its support for exceptional sporting experience, several notches higher.
Through the years, the brand has earned a remarkable reputation for its support to strategic initiatives that align with the key interests of its consumers.
This was furthermore evident, in line with its unique tradition, with its recent sponsorship outing at the 25th Nigerian Cup (Ikoyi Golf Tournament). The event, which ran from September 24 – October 1, 2022, at the Prestigious Ikoyi Club Golf Course, was organised to commemorate Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Day Anniversary. For the brand, it was a bold statement of celebration for Nigeria’s Independence as well as the celebration of a passion point of its consumers.
The week-long event welcomed participation from professional golfers, caddies and was made more colourful with the support from invited guests, ranging from socialites and golf enthusiasts. The guests were treated to colourful nights of entertainment and cocktails, courtesy of Lord’s London Dry Gin.

Organised yearly since its debut in 1997, the Nigerian Cup (Ikoyi Golf Tournament) is one of the most prestigious competitions in Ikoyi Club 1938. It was initiated to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence anniversary. According to the Chairman, Ikoyi Golf Community Nigeria Association (IGCNA), “the Nigeria Golf Cup is one of the most sought-after competitions in the club. By holding this contest, we want to promote a sense of community through recreation. We congratulate the winner, the finalists and extend our gratitude to our partners”.
The grand finale, held at the Club House hall, Ikoyi Golf Club, Lagos, on the 1st October, 2022, saw the emergence of Mr. Makinde Mike, who defeated other contenders to secure 66 Net in the tournament, as the winner.
