
Nigeria international goalkeeper Maduka Okoye played his first competitive game for Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam when he lined up in goal for the Reserve Team of the Dutch side in their first game of the season.
The B team of the Dutch side play in the Tweede Divisie which is the highest amateur football league in the Netherlands and it’s meant for Reserve teams of professional football team .
Okoye played the entire duration of the 2-2 draw against Jong FC Volendam who were able to secure a draw despite playing with ten men for large spell of the game .
The B team of Sparta Rotterdam twice in the game but had to settle for a draw with Okoye producing a late save that help them to rescue a point from the game .
Although he conceded twice he was left terribly exposed by his defenders. The few times he was required to do a job for his team he did really well. He will be hoping to be a part of the first team when they start their Eredivisie campaign on Friday.
