Manchester United fans have lambasted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for using Nigeria star, Odion Ighalo, as a substitute in the Sunday’s FA Cup disaster against Chelsea.

Ighalo was introduced in the second half, but he was unable to rescue Manchester United from going out of the FA Cup.

Ighalo was surprisingly left out of the starting line up by Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after scoring three goals in two starts for the club in the competition.

Solskjaer started with Marcus Rashford as the lone striker and it proved to be a tactical blunder by the Norwegian at the end as young England forward struggled on his own upfront.

Ighalo later replaced the young English forward in the last few minutes of the game, but he unable to help rescue the team as Chelsea were already out of sight.

Chelsea got their goals through Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount, and Harry Maguire’s own goal, but United got their consolation from a penalty kick converted by Bruno Fernandes.

It was a big heartbreak for Ighalo who has now missed out of a place in final with Watford and Manchester United respectively, despite coming so close.

While reacting to the result on social media, Manchester United supporters faulted their manager for the result, some of them opined that he should have started the game with Odion Ighalo who has been prolific in the cup competitions.

Meanwhile, the defeat is the first in 20 matches for Manchester United and they will be hoping to bounce back
