Many students kidnapped as bandits invaded Katsina school

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in Daura, his hometown, for a week-long private visit. Buhari arrived katsina on friday.

The incident forced the remaining students, who survived the invasion, to vacate the school in the night as parents were said to be busy searching for their children up till Saturday morning.

The bandits riding on motorcycles, according to a credible source in the school, came in large numbers and started shooting sporadically.

It was learnt that the bandits, after invading the school, proceeded to the staff quarters where they abducted the wife of an employee in the school before they stormed the students’ hostel and abducted unspecified number of students.

“They abducted many of our students who were inside their hostels. I cannot say how many people were kidnapped, but they went away with many students.

“As we speak this morning (Saturday), our remaining students have left the school and their parents are here with us trying to know their whereabouts,” a source revealed to newsmen.

Military sources disclosed that troops of the Nigerian Army later arrived at the school to confront the bandits and the bandits absconded with some of the students in the process.
