Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti says the Italian Serie A haven’t seen a player like Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen after his latest goal for Napoli handed them a 1-0 win over Torino.
The goal was the 5th goal the Nigerian has scored for Napoli who have won all of their 8 league games this season to stay top of the league, two points above second place AC Milan.
Sconcerti while reacting to his latest goal is of the opinion that the league hasn’t seen a more dominant individual performance from a player in a while like what they are witnessing with the Nigerian.
He said since the days of legendary ex stars like Diego Maradona, Gabriel Bastistuta and Marco Van Basten they haven’t been another player as potent like the Nigerian in a Serie A team.
“Napoli have a devastating player, Osimhen, who hasn’t been seen since the days of Maradona, Van Basten or Batistuta . I don’t compare them, I speak of their importance on the pitch. Osimhen goes beyond the race he decides. In a championship of calm, professionalism, balance like this one, such a one man show is almost beyond bearable.
“It is worth ten points alone. It is not only fast ball and chain, it also goes on the head where only a few know how to get there. It is obvious and exceptional. It’s the real first difference of the season”, he said.
