Gabriel Martinelli is appreciating Arsenal’s boldness to take a gamble on him.
The Brazilian striker moved to the Gunners from Ituano and admits such a move is rare.
He told AS: “Arsenal was the club that presented me with a great career project and the one that bet on me. It is difficult to see big European clubs betting on players from clubs in the lower divisions of Brazil, and I was very happy with everything they offered me to help me evolve in my career.
“I had trial periods at other clubs, but I think Arsenal was the best option I could have chosen and today I am very happy here.

“I think the Brazilian footballer’s style of play pleases the fans in Europe a lot. I am happy to have this love and recognition from the Arsenal fans, and I do my best to reciprocate it on the pitch. I think that this harmony, this relationship between fan and player is always very positive for our performance on the pitch.
“I am a striker who always likes to have the ball to attack with speed, towards the goal. But I also learned to play without the ball, to take up space and see the game better to make the best decisions.”
