WAFCON 2022 hosts Morocco qualified for the tournament’s semi-finals and became the second African nation to book its place for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup following their 2-1 victory against Botswana on Wednesday night.

The Atlas Lionesses continue their unbeaten run in this Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

After winning their entire group stages matches, Reynald Pedros’ girls made it four with their victory over Botswana tonight.

Morocco took the lead just after three minutes of play as Saâna Mssoudy broke the deadlock.

However, Botswana quickly netted the equalizer thanks to Keitumetse Dithebe who restored the scoreline for them.

But the Atlas Lionesses were more determined in the second half with Yasmin Mrabet scoring the winner (59 minutes) to send them through to the next round and the World Cup next year for the first time in their history.
