Nigerian Ambassador to the U.S, Sylvanus Nsofor, dies at 85

Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America, Justice Sylvanus Adiewere Nsofor, is dead.

The Nigerian envoy died in a Maryland hospital yesterday night December 10, at the age of 85 years old.

Late Nsofor assumed office as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States of America on November 13, 2017.

The ambassadorial work was his first posting after his retirement from the Court of Appeal. The envoy succeeded Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, who also died towards the end of his tenure as Nigeria’s ambassador to United States.The late Nsofor was born on March 17, 1935, in Oguta, Imo State, Nigeria. He graduated from London’s now-defunct Holborn College of Law in 1962. He also bagged an LL.M from the London School of Economics in 1964.

He is survived by his wife and children. May his soul rest in peace, Amen
