Taiwo Awoniyi – Nottingham Forest
Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest in the offseason of 2022 ahead of the team’s first Premier League campaign in over 20 years. Awoniyi made a name for himself in Germany playing for Union Berlin. There, he scored 25 goals in 65 matches in all competitions.
Emmanuel Dennis – Nottingham Forest
Dennis joined Awoniyi at Nottingham Forest in the offseason after a brilliant Premier League debut season at Watford. Dennis scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League matches at Watford following just over three seasons at Belgium’s Club Brugge.
Frank Onyeka – Brentford
Midfielder Onyeka signed for Brentford in July 2021 from FC Midtjylland in Denmark. Nicknamed Freekick Frank due to giving away too many fouls at Midtjylland, Onyeka has become an important player for the Bees. In 25 matches for the Bees, Onyeka has one goal.
Joe Aribo – Southampton
Aribo helped Rangers qualify for the Europa League final in 2021-22. The Scottish club came up short to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties, but Aribo’s form caught the eye of Premier League club Southampton. Aribo is a regular in the Southampton team after signing a four-year contract with the south coast club.
Alex Iwobi – Everton
Iwobi was born in Lagos but moved to London at the age of four. He is the nephew of Jay-Jay Okocha, who one of Nigeria’s most famous footballers. Iwobi started at Arsenal, where he played from 2015 to 2019. He joined Everton in 2019 and is a regular for manager Frank Lampard.
Wilfred Ndidi – Leicester City
Midfielder Ndidi joined Leicester City in 2017 from Belgium’s Genk. Unfortunately for Ndidi, he arrived after the club’s fairy-tale Premier League title win. The defensive midfielder is a fixture in the Leicester City team. Ndidi’s stock around Europe continues to rise, and a transfer to a bigger club could be on the cards for the Nigerian international. Ndidi debuted for the national team in 2015.
Kelechi Iheanacho – Leicester City
Ndidi is joined by fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City. Although not a regular starter for the Foxes, Iheanacho has scored goals when called on. Iheanacho began his career at Manchester City after graduating from the youth academy. He played 64 times for Man City, scoring 21 times. Iheanacho moved to Leicester City in 2017 and regular backs up Jamie Vardy. Before the 2022-23 season, Iheanacho had scored 47 goals in 172 games for Leicester City in all competitions.
