Nigerians on social media have blasted The Nigerian Army after they revealed that the Lagos state government invited them to intervene in the #EndSARS protest in Lekki.

Lekki – Nigerians react as Army revealed Lagos government invited them

The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, had also denied allegation that soldiers opened fire on #ENDSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza on Tuesday, October 20.

This is contrary to the many videos that surfaced on the internet and also the fact that some of the protesters were reportedly hit by bullets at the protest ground on the day of the incident.

Nigerians have however in their numbers trooped to social media to react to the story with many putting the blame on the Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for calling the Army on peaceful protesters.

These are some reactions we gathered on social media

They should be ashame for denying what they knew they did…well no shame cos its been sold ..just as their soul has been sold for penny…but judgment awaits them…and the cry of mother’s that lost their kids will continue giving them sleepless night in jesus name..Amen.” Favor wrote on Twitter

While some social media users wanted to believe the Army and the government are confused and not certain of the statement to release, others believe they are not confused and are only trying to set confusion into the midst of the citizens

They are not confused. They only want to get us confused. They know what they’re doing. We moooove.” Kayode Tameen also wrote on Twitter

The Army had earlier denied being at the scene of the incident where no less than 15 people, mostly peaceful protesters, were reported dead.
