Nigeria’s power sector has recorded another national peak generation of 5,520.40MW.

Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs division of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed this in a statement on Saturday.

Mbah said that the new generation passed the previous also recorded this week.

She praised the collaboration between players in the power sector.

Mbah noted that with the current capacity of 8,100MW, TCN transmitted the new peak at a frequency of 50.11Hz through the nation’s grid.

“As players in the power sector value chain continue to work together to improve the nation’s power supply, TCN implores everyone to help protect power infrastructure nationwide.”

She, however, appealed to citizens to stop burning bushes or trash beside transmission towers.
