NNL: Abia Comets beat Beyond Limits 2-0

It was 90 minutes of highly entertaining football at Umuahia township stadium in Abia State on Saturday as Abia Comets Football Club beat visiting Beyond Limits Football Club of Ogun State in matchday 2 of the Nigerian National League (NNL).

The match, played in front of cheering supporters, was decided by two goals scored in each half of the match.

Jonah James opened the score for the home team in the 47th minute.

In the second half, Beyond Limits mounted a strong attack to equalize but their strikers were repelled by the tight defence line of Abia Comets.

Chinatu Eluwa made the game 2-0 in the 63rd minute by slotting in the second goal, sending the Umuahia fans into a frenzy of celebration.

Dauglas Bueka of Abia Comets emerged as the man of the match in the Southern Conference A group encounter.

Abia Comets’s coach, Kelvin Ejeh, hailed his boys for the victory, saying they would improve in subsequent matches.

Meanwhile, Umuahia township stadium will host Enugu Rangers on Sunday in a tough match in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
