NPFL: Akwa United return to Uyo in style, Abia Warriors beat Pillars away

Akwa United make a triumphant return to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo edging out holders Enyimba 3-1 in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 23 fixture.

The Promise Keepers started the game on the strong foot with David Philip firing home the opener on seven minutes.

Sani Suleiman added the second goal in the 51st minute dribbling past Ojo Olorunleke before slotting the ball home.

The People’s Elephant reduced the deficit 15 minutes from time with Chijioke Mbaoma converting from the spot.

Suleiman restored the hosts two-goal cushion deep into stoppage time.

Elsewhere, Daniel Ijeh scored the decisive goal as Abia Warriors defeated Kano Pillars 1-0.

Doma United and Sporting Lagos battled to a 0-0 draw at the Doma United.
