Bendel Insurance put up an impressive display as they defeated Akwa United 2-0 in the opening fixture of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Insurance dominated game and were rewarded for their supreme attacking play.
Imade Osehenkhoe gave the away side the lead on 37th minute following a superb pass from Divine Nwachukwu.
Ismail Sarki put the game beyond the home team on 41st minute.
It was the first time Insurance have scored two goals in an NPFL game since they lost 3-2 to Zamfara United in October 2007.
The remaining matchday one fixtures will be played next weekend.
