NPFL: Enyimba beat Akwa United in thriller, Remo silence Bayelsa in Yenagoa

Defending champions Enyimba recorded a 3-2 victory against Akwa United in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, contest in Aba on Sunday night.

Enyimba led 2-0 in the opening 15 minutes of the game.

Innocent Gabriel and Chijioke Mbaoma netted for the Peoples Elephant.

Former U-23 Eagles forward, Kufre Ebong reduced the deficit for Akwa United with a glancing header late in the first half.

The Promise Keepers levelled through David Philip in the 67th minute.

At the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Remo Stars registered the first away win of the season, edging hosts Bayelsa United 2-1.

Adams Olamilekan gave the Sky Blues the lead on four minutes after he was set up by Samuel Anakwe.

Substitute Sikiru Alimi doubled Remo Stars lead 12 minutes from time.

Ekeson Okorie reduced the deficit for the hosts in the 88th minute.
