NPFL: Sunshine Stars extend unbeaten run, Tornadoes win away

Sunshine Stars extended their unbeaten streak to three games following a 3-1 home win against Plateau United in Akure on Saturday.

Sadiq Ibrahim bagged a brace for the home team, while Ibrahim Yusuf scored the other goal.

Plateau United’s only goal of the game was scored by Albert Hilary.

Niger Tonardoes recorded the only away win of the day, edging past Bayelsa United 1-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

Ikechukwu Nwani’s second half goal separated both sides on the night.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United held Kano Pillars to a 1-1 draw.

Abba Adam gave the visitors the lead in the 23rd minute, while Sunday Williams equalised for Rivers United five minutes after the break.
