NSCDC arrests 14 vandals in FCT

The FCT Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday paraded 14 suspects arrested in its ongoing clampdown on those who vandalise street lights, traffic lights, and manhole covers.

A statement by Comfort Okomanyi, the spokesperson of the command, stated that the suspects were picked up by NSCDC’s men on routine night patrol at different locations in the city.

Some of them were accused of having constituted themselves into nuisances under bridges and around critical installations at odd hours without any clearly defined purpose or destination.

Among the suspects paraded were Muhammed Isa, 18, Elvis Obingwa, 45, Eze Godwin, 39, Basiru Abubakar, 23, Abdallah Zakariya, 40, Hungano Dimas, 27, Aliyu Mohammed, 52, and Basiru Abdullah, 20.

Others were Kabiru Usenu, 19, Godwin Isaac, 24, Sunday Yusuf, 28, Lawal Badiru, 25, Yusuf Nuts, 18, and Hamsa Ibrahim, 20.
