In an era where there is a dearth of African coaches handling teams abroad, a certain coach from Nigeria Gboyega Olutade is changing the narrative, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Olutade who was trained in the United States of America and has spent time playing and gaining coaching experience in six countries including USA, UAE, Bahrain, Ghana, Nigeria and Thailand was last season appointed by UAE side Al-Nasr.
The club finished 5th in the regular season with Olutade who is one of the assistants of head coach Goran Tomić playing a huge role in their modest finish. He has been rewarded with a new deal ahead of the start of next season.
An excited Olutade posted the letter of the extension of his stay on his Twitter account with a statement that reads thus: ” Having received a contract renewal offer from Al Nasr Club yesterday, I’m pleased to confirm I have, today, accepted the offer for a further year.
While I look forward to signing the official contract docs, I thank the Club management for their trust, & the opportunity for a continued relationship. ????️⚽️????”, he posted on his handle @G_Coachtee.

Per his profile on Twitter, he is also the co owner and manager of UAE third division side D-Gardens United. On the 24th of June he posted about the visit of Brazil world cup 2002 winning winger Denilson Martins Nascimento visit to the team.

He also showed he hasn’t lost touch with happenings in Nigeria when he reacted to getting blocked on Twitter by the coach of the Nigerian women team Randy Waldrum, who has been having a running battle with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) few weeks to the start of the World Cup.
