Oluwo of Iwo announces wedding to Kano Princess, says she’s ‘matrimonial material and morally upright’

Oba Adbulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo land in Osun state, is set to wed a Kano princess, Firdauz Abdullahi.

The monarch took to his official social media page to announce the news of his forthcoming wedding to the princess on Tuesday, March 8.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold on March 19, 2022, at the residence of Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters in Kano State.

A reception said to be strictly for the ladies will follow afterwards at the palace of the palace of the Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The Oluwo was married to a Canadian-born woman, Chanel Chin, whom he shares a son with, but they parted ways in 2019 over irreconcilable differences.

Sharing photos of the wedding invite on social media, the monarch described his bride to be as a wife material and morally upright princess.

He wrote,

“History Made: Royalty Meets, Weds Royalty. A great wife, matrimonial material and morally upright princess becoming an empress.

“The glory is not mine alone. It belongs to all of us who trust in our way, an undiluted monarchy that resigns only to God, The Creator. We reference God for everything.”
