The Police Command in Ekiti State has debunked the “influx of herdsmen” into the state from Oyo State.

Sunday Abutu, Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Wednesday, said there had been no sight or report of herders entering Ekiti in large numbers.

He cautioned against speculations that may cause apprehension in the state.

The spokesman warned that would no longer be tolerated.

The statement implored members of the public to always verify information on social media.

The command assured the people of adequate protection of lives and property, and advised them to be vigilant.

Abutu urged the public to report strange and suspicious persons to the nearest police station or tp call 0806-233-5577.
