Jose Peseiro is going ahead with his plans for the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of next year Africa Cup of Nations, OwnGoalNigeria.comcan exclusively reveal.

Peseiro’s contract as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria has expired, but according to the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Austine Eguavoen, talks are underway on extending his deal.

Already he has been told to submit his training program for next year Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament that he has been given a target of at least reaching the semi final. A source close to the coach dropped a few details about his plans.

” It involves a training camp outside Nigeria but since the tournament is in January, the idea is to use the FIFA international window in between to try some new players. The plan also has some games in the World Cup qualifiers, which starts in November”, he said.

” From what I know at least six new players will be given first time call up to the team. There is a young goalkeeper who will be in the mix alongside the U20 goalkeeper Chijioke Anigboso, who just moved to Ukraine”, he stated.
