There was heavy traffic in the Lekki area of Lagos on Saturday following a rally in support of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

There was police presence in the area and Lekki Tollgate to enforce a court order that Obi’s supporters shouldn’t converge on that location.

Recall that a Federal High Court had on Wednesday ordered the Obi supporters, known as Obidients, from gathering at the Lekki Toll-Gate.

Justice Daniel Osiagor, who gave the order, ruled that the LP supporters were free to pass through the facility for its rally but must not converge there.

However, thedabigal earlier reported that the Obidients who have been holding rallies in many part of the country to drum support for the former Anambra Governor, defiled the court order as they thronged the facility.

The development caused gridlock in many parts of the city as motorists were stranded.
