Police arrest two suspected armed robbers in Delta, recover arms

The Anti-Crime Patrol team in Ekpan Police Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on routine visibility patrol duty have arrested two suspected armed robbers in the State.

The two suspects include Yusuf Ibrahim ‘m’ (27) and Hashimu Garba ‘m’ (30).

This is coming as one other escaped from the scene of crime, thedabigal can report.

The Police also recovered one cut-to-size locally-made single barrel gun, three live cartridges and two expended cartridges from the suspects.

It was learnt that the Police flagged down a motorcycle with three occupants by Benjones in Hausa Market along NPA Expressway, Warri.

The suspects alighted from the motorcycle and one of them surprisingly shot at the team.

However, the team who were strategically positioned returned same.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “During the gun duel, one of the suspects named Yusuf Ibrahim ‘m’ age 27, was shot on his left foot which brought him down and he was arrested along with the rider of the motorcycle one Hashimu Garba ‘m’ 30 years of Mami Market, Effurun while the third suspect escaped.”

The Police image maker said, “Manhunt for the fleeing suspect is ongoing.”
