Real Madrid vs Barcelona: Zidane advises Messi on his future ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has said he would like Lionel Messi to stay at Barcelona.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s El Clasico, Zidane said Messi’s presence is “good for La Liga”.

Real Madrid welcome Barcelona on Saturday with both teams looking to chase down leaders Atletico Madrid, with Barca just one point off the top, and Madrid two points further back.

Messi has failed to score in his last seven Clasicos, last finding the net in the fixture in May 2018.

“I hope he stays at Barcelona. He’s fine there, and it is good for the Spanish league too.

“We know the player Messi is, that won’t change, even if he doesn’t score,” Zidane said when asked if this could be Messi’s last Clasico.
