The Recovery of Destiny Programme at the Redeemer’s University has been trending on social media after skit maker Mr Macaroni revealed he was expelled from the school in 2017.

A lot of Nigerians have sought to know what the programme is all about as the theme sounds weird, though not surprising since the institution is Christian-owned.
Mr Macaroni whose real names are Adedayo Adebowale Babatunde was expelled from the school as a result of his social media post which portrayed the institution and its officials in a bad light.
He confirmed the expulsion in a recent social media post where he wrote:
Just to clear the misunderstanding, this news by Sahara reporters wasn’t wrong at the time. I was expelled from school in 2017. We however went to court same 2017 and settled out of court in 2018. I graduated since 2018 and I went for Nysc 2019. Finished Nysc 2020.
In his social media post at the time, the comedian had criticized a certain figure who fits the description of the Vice Chancellor of the University at the time.
In his expulsion letter, he was given the option of applying for the Recovery of Destiny Programme and many Nigerians have taken to social media to critizise the theme of the programme, which according to our research, is a kind of rehabilitation programme designed for erring students recover from their misbehaviour and social vices.
