Embattled coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr sent three players out of the camp of the team on the eve of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers game against Cape Verde, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The players were expelled from the team for breaking the team’s curfew ahead of the crucial game which they drew 1-1 to seal a spot in the final round of the world cup qualifiers, which is the play off.
We gathered the three players expelled from the team include two senior players who were the brain behind the sex party organized by the players at their camp at Eko Hotel.
Two of them are defenders and the other is a forward who is very close to the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick. He got across to Pinnick who vetoed the decision to expell them from the team.
Pinnick’s interference shocked the technical crew as they were all part of the decision to keep the players out of the team for it to serve as deterrent to others. Two out of the three players ended up playing in the game.
Rohr who has been told to step aside from his role as coach was also helpless when during the half time break two players who started the game resorted to punches in the dressing room after a heated exchange.
The duo have already had an issue during preparation for the game and it probably led to the fist cuffs that followed during the half time break of what was a crucial game .
