Rivers United has completed a dramatic comeback to overcome a determined Heartland side in a competitive warm-up game.

The encounter played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt ended 2-1 in favour of the Pride of Rivers.

Alex Oyowah’s second half header and Yao Benard’a last minute strike was enough to cancel out Heartland’s early strike in the first half.

Rivers United dominated the game in the first half but went behind before the break.

Stanley Eguma’s side turned the game around immediately after the start of the second half to earn a deserved victory over the visitors.

The former NPFL champions will now concentrate on their CAF Confederation Cup second round clash against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso.
