Rohr Shuns Nwakali Again, Picks Shehu Abdullahi As Replacement For Injured Onyeka

Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus midfielder Shehu Abdullahi has been picked by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr as replacement for Frank Onyeka.

The Midtjylland midfielder was ruled out of the game due to injury bringing to three the number of players who have pulled out of the game with Moses Simon and Kenneth Omeruo also out due to injuries.

Paul Onuachu was called up as replacement for Moses Simon while no one will be replacing Omeruo with Rohr satisfied with the defenders in his team ahead of the games against Sierra Leone.

Abdullahi was picked ahead of Kelechi Nwakali of Huesca who is a natural midfielder in the standby list. Abdullahi has played most of his club and national team career at right back even though he can also play as a defensive midfielder.
