Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi alongside Borrusia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi have donated eight football pitches to the community of Ajegunle in Lagos state, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Born to a Nigerian father in Germany, Adeyemi during a visit to Nigeria made a pledge to support the building of football pitches in the country, and the German international found a willing partner in Ndidi, who is one of the vice captains of the senior national team of Nigeria.

In a post on X shared by foremost Nigerian journalist Shina Okeleji, the duo transformed the very popular Maracana stadium in Ajegunle to a more standard and modern pitch.

A total of eight playing pitches were built by the duo, including a 96 bed fully air conditioned building. Each building when completed will have a 24 hour power supply with a solar backup.

It will also have a treated water supply, satisfactory shower and a changing room. As per the plan, it will have five buildings each with 96 beds upon completion. The facility was recently toured by the sports minister of Nigeria John Owan Enoh.
