Serie A: Mourinho sent off as Roma receive three red cards, lose 5-2

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, was sent off after storming onto the pitch during his side’s pre-season friendly 5-2 defeat to Real Betis on Saturday at Benito Villamarin.

Goals from Rodri, Nabi Fekir, Alex Moreno, Cristian Tello and Rober ensured the LaLiga side defeated Roma.

Eldor Shomurodov and Gianluca Mancini did score for Mourinho’s side.

Mourinho was livid after Lorenzo Pellegrini was given his marching orders by Spanish referee Figueroa Vazquez.

After the referee sent him off, Mourinho rushed onto the pitch to express his disapproval.

That, in turn, saw him sent off as the former Chelsea and Manchester United furiously remonstrated with the officials.

Things went from bad to worse for Roma as Gianluca Mancini was then sent off before Rick Karsdorp also received red.

Roma will now tackle Raja Casablanca on August 14 in their next pre-season fixture before facing Fiorentina at home in their 2021/22 Serie A opener.
