Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote says his players gave their best in Thursday’s defeat to Rangers.

The Oluyole Warriors went down 2-0 to the Flying Antelopes at the newly refurbished Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The visitors put up a brave fight in the game but were undone by two goals from Kalu Nweke and Chidozie Okorie.

Ogunbote claimed his players didn’t do too badly in the game.

“They [Shooting Stars players] didn’t play too badly except for the fact that we had no goals to show for it. Nobody will say we were humiliated except for the goals,” the former Sunshine Stars boss said after the game.

“Sometimes goals do not actually determine the strength of play. Be it as it may, we take the positives from the match.”

Shooting Stars are now winless in their last six games.

The Ibadan club, which currently occupies 13th position on the table, will host Bayelsa United in their next league game.
