Sporting Lagos move top, Gombe United stun Enyimba

Sporting Lagos moved to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League after holding former champions Akwa United to a 0-0 draw at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday.

The NPFL new boys put up a strong defensive performance to earn a share of the spoils in the game.

Paul Offor’s side top the standings with four points from two games.

At the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe United defeated defending champions Enyimba 2-0.

Alakwe Chijioke opened the scoring for the home team two minutes before the break.

Ahmed Jimoh netted the second goal in the 90th minute.
