Atletico Madrid striker, Luis Suarez, has reacted to Sergio Aguero’s imminent move to Barcelona.
The Uruguayan striker, himself a former Barcelona player, said he supports Aguero’s move, describing him as a quality player.
Suarez also advised Lionel Messi, Barcelona captain, to continue his career at the club.
“Now there is a new board of directors [at Barcelona], other people, and they are looking for a quality player,” Suarez told El Partidazo de COPE.
“Obviously, he [Aguero] has a relationship with Leo [Messi], but you cannot argue about what a quality player he is and what he can give to Barcelona.
“I support the decision totally.”
Suarez added, “As a friend and fan, I would be happy, I would love it, and I would recommend that he [Messi] continues at Barcelona. Has he told me if he’s staying? Not yet.”
Messi is out of contract at Barcelona this summer while Aguero is set to join the La Liga giants on a free transfer after a decade at Premier League champions, Manchester City.
